Our children begin the day with a nutritious organic vegan breakfast followed by yoga and affirmations. The rest of the day covers all the core learning areas through exploration in fields like business, science, and the arts. Many of the activities are outdoors, and most involve hands-on experiences and project-based learning. Founded by veteran educator Dr. Sujan Dass, this school employs a revolutionary approach to learning and student success that works!
Our School Day
Our school day runs from 8am to 3pm, followed by an aftercare program from 3pm to 6pm.
Morning Program – Language Arts and World Studies (LAWS)
A nutritious vital (vegan) breakfast is served at 8am, followed by yoga, affirmations, journal writing, and the day’s learning goals. The morning explores literacy (with a focus on independent publishing) and social studies of the real world.
Afternoon Program – Business, Economics, Science, and Technology (BEST)
Children help prepare their lunch as a community, followed by an afternoon program focusing on math and business as well as explorations of science and nature.
Aftercare Program – The ARTS (Artists-in-Residence Teaching Sciences)
An aftercare program is available from 3pm to 6pm where students discover the arts, including fine arts, martial arts, and the culinary arts. A vegan meal (which children learn to prepare) is included.
SOIL is open year-round, Monday thru Friday, from 8am to 6pm, at the beautiful Mosaic Museum in southwest Atlanta. We are open during most holidays (we host cultural celebrations!), and weekend programs.
