Author: @afr808 It was beautiful to be on an island where it didn’t feel criminal to be black. A getaway from home that felt like home, a place where an open heart, open ears, and a desire to be understood will take you where you want to go. Centrally located right off the strip in San Juan, our lodging was beautiful , our tour guide got us accustomed to the traffic, the beaches, and common areas where we could find what we needed. Also provided basic Spanish lessons, great advice to safely travel the city, respect for the local culture and customs. Travelling across the island to Mayaguez we tasted flavors that only fresh produce brings out in a meal, everywhere the food was delicious food trucks and all. Our stay at the #supernaturalhacienda in Mayaguez was even better than San Juan, we talking bout a view of the city like no other under stars with less light pollution. This is how you cleanse your mind, body, and spirit. I will be back next tour!
Thurs Nov 5th I ventured out from the #supernaturalhacienda early while the others were still resting to explore downtown Mayaguez. I wanted to revisit the city hall plaza my brother JustFree showed a few of us the night before. The plaza has bronze statutes that included depictions of Egyptians and Moors, so I wanted to get a better look. When I reached the plaza in the daytime, I noticed the banner honoring the great baseball player Roberto Clemente. Clemente was an even greater human being. It was real refreshing to see the Boriquen native son being honored by the city. It became a sincere moment of reflection for me, as I reflected on my Mom comforting me after the news of his plane crash came thru the WBLS airwaves that ’73 New Year’s Day. See his is one of the earliest ‘public figure’ that I admired deaths. So in a very profound way this was my personal #cometopr moment, one that I shared with the presence of my Old Earth’s essence and the essence of the Great Roberto Clemente. Come to PR and encounter your special moment. Clemente was involved in charity work in Latin American and Caribbean countries during the off-seasons, […]
My experience was a new beginning for me. To have gone to a place of such humble surroundings. I was a bit nervous at first, specially going by myself, but that was complete gone by the first morning. The environment is nothing like I have witnessed before, a new experience, the weather, the atmosphere and all. Supreme Understanding, being very knowledgeable in PR made the trip that much more comforting. The places we visited, the food we got to experience was all something I have to go back for again. I met some amazing spiritual people in PR and they have definitely opened my eyes to a new mindset. I can’t wait to go back again, I was even possibly considering making PR my home one day, I felt so comfortable and one with nature and people there. Thank you to all that has made this trip possible, and hope to see everyone again soon! 🧭 🔜 www.cometopr.com ✈️
